Enchanting Danube ( Category L - Rhine Deck SUITE / Category 1 - Rhine Deck / Category 2 - Danube Deck / Category 3 - Main Deck / Category 4 - Moselle Deck / Category 5 - Cruise Only )
Day 1: Arrive Budapest Arrive in Budapest and be greeted by a cruise representative who will escort you to the ship. (Dinner)
Day 2: Budapest Budapest is an enchanting city with a vibrant mix of East and West, and Medieval and modern. Made up of two parts—Buda, the hills, and Pest, the flat lands—it is divided by the Danube and is an architectural dream. Your city tour features the famous Chain Bridge, an early 19th-century bridge that was the first to connect Buda with Pest, the UNESCO-listed Castle Hill district, and the 19th-century Fisherman’s Bastion with dramatic vistas of the city. (Breakfast / Lunch / Captain’s Welcome Dinner) Featured Excursion: Budapest City Tour
Day 3: Bratislava Bratislava, straddling both banks of the mighty Danube, is a melting pot of cultures – an absolute fondue of diversity. A tour through Bratislava will acquaint you with a sampling of the town’s eclectic architecture of Gothic, Baroque and Art Deco styles. Bratislava has been aptly named the “Coronation City of Kings” and you’ll discover as you walk along the sidewalks that there are little golden crowns in the pavement identifying the route of the coronation procession of eleven kings and eight royal spouses over the centuries. You’ll also pass the 17th-century palace that now serves as the seat of the Slovakian government, Old Town’s Freedom Square and Peace Square, and Grassalkovich Palais, home of the President of Slovakia. You’ll continue on to Bratislava Castle, Michael’s Gate, built during medieval times to keep out enemies, Mirbach Palace and Primatial Palace. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Featured Excursion: Bratislava City Tour Evening Entertainment: Exciting Local Entertainment
Day 4: Vienna Vienna is a treasure trove of secular and sacred gems—St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the most beloved architectural wonder in all of Vienna, and the stately Ringstrasse, the broad thoroughfare surrounded by the many imperial buildings and monuments that give Vienna its wedding cake appearance. Your city tour will take you along the Ringstrasse to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, where Mozart was married in 1782, and then onto Figaro House, where you can almost picture Mozart furiously writing The Marriage of Figaro. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Featured Excursion: Vienna City Tour
Day 5: Dürnstein, Cruising the Wachau Valley, Melk The tiny Baroque village of Dürnstein seems lost in time. It’s perhaps most famous for being where Richard the Lionhearted was held captive in 1192 and 1193 until he paid a heavy ransom in silver – your local guide will fill you in on all the details during your walking tour. The tour takes you through the village with its old burgher houses and 16th- through 18th-century townhouses, ending at the exquisite Baroque cathedral. Depart Dürnstein and cruise through the heart of the fairytale, vineyard-rich Wachau Valley with its abruptly rising hills, nestling Baroque villages and ancient monuments, this fascinating stretch of landscape along the Danube has recently been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Featured Excursion: Dürnstein Walking Tour Onboard Highlight: Insightful Lecture
Day 6: Linz The Danube serves as a dividing line between the modern Linz and its old “soul.” During your guided tour, explore Old Town with its castles, churches and early buildings fanning out from the central Hauptplatz, Austria’s largest medieval town squares. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Featured Excursion: Linz Walking Tour
Day 7: Passau Your guided walk starts in the medieval section of Passau, and then takes you past St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to Europe’s largest pipe organ. Later, you’ll return to St. Stephan’s for an organ concert.* (Breakfast / Lunch / Catain’s Farewell Dinner) Featured Excursions: Walking Tour and Organ Concert* *Organ concert not available on Sundays or before May 2 or after November 1.
Day 8: Depart Munich Disembark the ship and transfer to the airport in Munich for your flight home.

Passau The beautiful city of Passau is enchanting. Located at the confluence of three rivers – the Danube, Inn and Ilz – the city is most famous for its ornate Baroque cathedral. Wander its quaint cobblestone streets, visit the charming local taverns, and listen to the world’s largest church pipe organ in magnificent St. Stephan’s Cathedral.
Linz (Salzburg) With majestic peaks and peaceful lakes, the drive through upper Austria is an endless succession of picture-postcard scenes. The hills are definitely alive with the sounds of music. In fact, 2006 marks the 250th birthday of Salzburg’s famous resident, Mozart. Of course, it was also home to the legendary Von Trapp family. And for those who love beer, a visit to the Stiegl’s World of Brewing museum is a must. Not only will you learn about the town’s brewing history, you will also get to sample the region’s specialty beers.
Dürnstein The charming village of Dürnstein is located in the center of the beautiful Wachau Valley. High above the town, you can see the ruins of the 12th-century castle where Richard the Lionhearted was held prisoner. Apart from the castle, Dürnstein is home to a beautiful Baroque monastery, as well as many well-preserved Medieval treasures.
Vienna A wide and stately boulevard, aptly named the Ringstrasse, still defines the heart of the city. And the inspiration of Mozart still lives on in the city. This year the Viennese celebrate Mozart’s 250th birthday, and Trafalgar wants to celebrate as well with a Mozart and Strauss concert at the lovely Palais Auersperg.
Bratislava This booming Slovakian capital surprises those who take the time to discover its old-world charm and its modern side. Once the capital of Hungary, it is referred to as the “Coronation City of Kings.” And it is a regal city indeed. Explore the charming Old Town and the 14th-century Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. Stroll through the renovated historic section filled with shops and cafés populated by the many young people who go to one of the eight universities here. And end your tour with a panoramic view of three countries – Hungary, Slovakia and Austria – awaits from the ramparts of Bratislava Castle.
Budapest Budapest is an enchanting city with a vibrant mix of East and West, and Medieval and modern. Made up of two parts, Buda, the hills, and Pest, the flat lands, it is divided by the Danube and is an architectural dream. On the Buda side, explore Castle Hill towering above the Danube and enjoy the view from Fisherman’s Bastion, and on the Pest side, visit the spectacular Houses of Parliament, Hero’s Square and St. Stephan’s Basilica.
